Procore Client The Build Group Joins Inc. 500

Congratulations to The Build Group (San Francisco, CA) for being named to the Inc. Magazine 500, the list of America's fastest growing private companies.

The Build Group was named to the Inc. 500 list due to reporting revenue growth of over 2100% from 2007 to 2010. This growth rate places The Build Group at #131 on Inc. magazine's list of top 500 private US firms, and #4 in the Construction industry. Suprisingly, The Build Group's performance also placed the company at #6 for the entire San Francisco Bay Area -- not bad for a construction company located in America's dot com capital!

Fast growing companies need enterprise software that won't slow their growth -- for The Build Group, this means using Procore's web-based construction project management software. With the ability to log on and get up-to-the-minute project information from any Internet connection, Procore makes it possible to keep business information moving. Whether users have a laptop, an iPhone, an Android device, or even an iPad, Procore gets project teams the information they need to keep working -- and, like The Build Group, to keep on growing.

Procore Board Member Kevin O'Connor on TechCrunch TV

Kevin O'Connor, co-founder of Internet advertising pioneer DoubleClick, is featured this week as the subject of several video interviews on TechCrunch TV, the leading video technology blog.

Kevin shares the story of founding DoubleClick, and talks about his no-nonsense business approach. To O'Connor, a great business finds a large problem and solves it. That's what DoubleClick did in Internet advertising. Kevin's latest venture, FindTheBest.com, is solving another problem by enabling and improving online comparisons.

Kevin is backing Procore because he recognizes that our software solves a big problem in the construction industry. The need is simple: construction project teams need immediate access to accurate project information. Information has to be accessible from any device, any place that there's Internet connectivity.

That vision led to Procore's approach to construction project management software. Procore users can access and manage project data using a laptop, an iPhone, an Android device or even an iPad. No matter where a Procore user is, they can keep up with the current information about their construction projects. Problem solved.

Construction Digital Magazine: Procore One of Top 5 Construction Project Software Applications

Construction Digital Magazine has a nice write-up on Procore in their just-released feature entitled The Top 5 Construction Project Management Applications.

The article notes that:

"As the construction industry moves toward BIM and integrated project delivery (IPD), project management systems that utilize cloud computing and encourage collaboration will become vital to a project’s success. The systems mentioned below improve transparency and efficiency at all levels of the project, while reducing printing and shipping costs."

Construction Digital is correct when they point out that these web-based applications improve communication and transparency. The five vendors listed in this story are among the leading vendors of construction project management software, and each of them provides an online solution that provides their software-as-a-service (SaaS).

At Procore, we are still surprised at how so many of the web-based applications have yet to move functionality to web-enabled devices such as smartphones and tablet computers. Millions of consumers are now carrying devices like these that allow high-speed web access -- and the most-used devices aren't necessarily laptop computers.

In order to improve efficiency and accuracy, construction project management software has to be instantly accessible, from any connected device. That's why we think that Procore is just the first of the Top 5 Construction Project Management Applications listed by Construction Digital to offer mobile apps, access via iPad, and desktop widgets such as Procore for Desktop.

Stay tuned -- we expect that in the near future, most construction project management software will have to provide mobile access in order to make this kind of shortlist. We look forward to seeing the innovation from all of these software providers.
