Stories behind the software–the construction professionals shaping the Procore platform
Name: Brendan Kerin
Title: Solutions Engineer, Enterprise Team
Brendan Kerin was introduced to the construction industry in 2007. His neighbor, who was working for a large construction company at the time, invited Brendan to visit a job site. Working towards a Civil Engineering degree, Brendan jumped at the offer.
“What really grabbed me was the tangible aspect of building something. Construction is everywhere; from oil and gas, to bridges and roads, to our homes. There is no person on earth who is not impacted by construction,” says Brendan, a Solutions Engineer at Procore, providing technical background and construction expertise supporting our Sales org.
"There is no person on earth who is not impacted by construction...”
Eventually, Brendan joined Turner Construction as a Field Engineer and over the next eight years, worked on a number of projects including hospitals and community colleges. He also grew into numerous roles–Project Engineer, Cost Engineer, and finally, Superintendent.
“One of the things that I love about construction is that you are always learning something new. It was awesome going in each day not totally knowing what my day would look like.”
As the industry transformed and technology began to replace traditional systems, Turner Construction established an Innovation Committee to help navigate the changing landscape. One of their initiatives was to implement Procore and Brendan was quick to adopt the solution. As a Procore power user, Brendan identified some areas for improvement within the platform. Having firsthand industry experience, he was confident that he could help the team at Procore solve for better workflows and support the expansion of the platform.
“I joined Procore and moved my family across the country because I felt excited about the opportunity to partner with the construction industry at large, and I believe in what Procore is doing," says Brendan.
In 2018, Brendan made the decision to join Procore, growing his sphere of influence beyond the Innovation Committee at Turner to the entire construction industry. He is driven by his passion to help his peers leverage technology in order to be even more efficient. At Procore, Brendan and many others like him, provide feedback and input from a construction professional’s perspective, influencing the build out of the solution for the end-user.
“I joined Procore and moved my family across the country because I felt excited about the opportunity to partner with the construction industry at large, and I believe in what Procore is doing, saving people I’ve worked with time, money, and risk through the use of construction tech.”
