A Discussion with Team Rubicon CEO, Jake Wood: Leadership Through Crisis & Adversity
Team Rubicon and Procore share a vision for the construction industry that is rooted in service and driven by innovation. Jake Wood, Team Rubicon founder and CEO, will join Tooey Courtemanche, founder and CEO of Procore, for a fireside chat on December 16 at 11:00 AM PST about leading through crisis and adversity.
Courtemanche and Wood will discuss how 2020 impacted their companies’ mission and what their plans are for building bigger in 2021. Check out Procore’s 2020 Year in Review and register for the webinar—the first 500 signs ups will receive a free copy of Wood’s new book, Once a Warrior.
Team Rubicon is a non-profit organization that serves communities by leveraging the skills of military veterans to help people prepare, respond, and recover from disasters and humanitarian crises. Through Procore.org, the social impact arm of Procore, Procore donates its platform and training for free to Team Rubicon for use in their rebuilding of homes in vulnerable communities in the wake of disaster.
Wood started Team Rubicon after traveling to Haiti in 2010 with a group of fellow ex-marines to conduct disaster response in the aftermath of a devastating earthquake that struck the island. The chaos was battlefield-like, and Wood experienced how returning to purpose-driven work gave military veterans an opportunity to again be of service, protect and make a difference.
Today, Team Rubicon mobilizes over 130,000 volunteers and has provided over a billion hours of service. The nonprofit took on hundreds of additional COVID-specific operations this year in response to the increase in need.
Procore is excited to welcome Wood back to speak after he kicked off the second day of Groundbreak last year in Phoenix, AZ. Wood’s keynote became an instant all-time favorite, and put a spotlight on the importance of building resilient teams, and of employees’ need for identity, purpose, and community.
An expert speaker and author on leading through crisis and adversity, Once a Warrior is Wood’s second book. It provides a personal account of Wood’s journey from serving combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan to creating and building Team Rubicon.
Team Rubicon is an international disaster response nonprofit that unites the skills and experiences of military veterans with first responders to rapidly provide relief to communities in need. If you want to learn more or are able to make a donation, please visit teamrubiconusa.org.
