Announcing Procore’s 2023 Impact Report
Today, Procore released its 2023 Impact Report, which showcases the company’s continued environmental, social, and governance (ESG) efforts. Read a version of Tooey Courtemanche’s opening message below.
Construction transforms our world in both seen and unseen ways. A skyline can completely shift in a decade. But that skyline is not just made of buildings. Within it are hospitals, schools, homes, and workplaces where we live our lives, and where communities are built.
Procore’s vision is to improve the lives of everyone in construction. If we truly succeed, that means improving the lives of everyone who touches construction. Because better, faster, safer, more efficient construction means reduced waste, and less strain on the environment. It means businesses open sooner, families move into homes faster, hospitals are built better, and our aging infrastructure can be updated to provide people with the services they need.
Today, I’m excited to announce the release of Procore’s 2023 Impact Report and share the progress we’re making together. This year, we’ve partnered with our customers, employees, the construction industry, and other stakeholders to progress the core pillars of our ESG strategy: building a better world, focusing on our people, and supporting responsible business practices.
Building a Better World
We aim to promote a better, more sustainable world by transforming the construction industry through reducing its environmental impact, elevating worker health and safety, and fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion within the communities where we operate and live.
By arming the construction industry with technology that allows for greater collaboration, project efficiencies, and accuracy and transparency, the industry is reducing construction waste and improving the health and safety of workers.
The work doesn’t stop at providing technology and its associated efficiencies to the construction industry. We also work to help the industry in combating its labor shortage by demonstrating it is a career to aspire to. We furthered our commitment to helping construction in facing its biggest challenges through initiatives committed to supporting students in launching their careers, the career development of women in construction, and starting open conversations on the state of mental health for the global construction workforce.
Focusing on Our People
We take a human-centric approach to building our teams and products, and work to continuously create and maintain a culture based on three core values: openness, ownership, and optimism. We believe that we cannot truly build our workplace, workforce, and community rooted in these values without a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
An open, diverse, and inclusive work culture is integral to our ability to attract and retain exceptionally talented and motivated employees. This year, we refreshed our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) strategic pillars and objectives to further strengthen an inclusive work culture that drives engagement, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
We continued to record an 80%+ participation rate in our annual Employee Voice Survey, with a year-over-year increase in our engagement score. We continued to expand our talent development opportunities with new programs targeted for career and personal growth in leadership and DEIB.
Supporting Responsible Business Practices
We believe that our core values and high ethical standards are foundational in building a healthy company that appropriately manages risks and opportunities. We have adopted policies and procedures designed to ensure our customer and other sensitive data is secure.
For the past 20 years, we’ve had the honor of partnering with the industry in its digital and cultural transformation. The rate of change is only accelerating, which opens up incredible opportunities to improve the way we build. Not just in the technology we use, but also how we work together to positively impact communities across the globe.
