Celebrating Construction Inclusion Week 2024
As the construction industry gears up for Construction Inclusion Week (CIW) 2024, I am thrilled to share how Procore is participating in this critical initiative. CIW serves as an industry-wide platform to highlight the construction community’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).
We are excited to partner with companies from across the industry to share best practices for creating more inclusive work environments and explore key themes such as supplier diversity, workplace culture, and community engagement.
Partnerships that Drive Inclusion
We understand the importance of using our platform to amplify and enable diversity and inclusion efforts in the construction industry. In partnership with the Associated General Contractors of America, we launched a scholarship fund to support construction management students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), recognizing the importance of advancing education for underrepresented communities. To ensure these students graduate prepared to become leaders in the industry, we offer free access to our software and training in their classrooms.
We also partnered with the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), and helped launch Lean In Circles for their members, a program aimed at fostering community and empowering women in the construction industry. Just recently, we expanded our partnership into Canada with the Afro-Canadian Contractors Association (ACCA), and the Canadian Women in Construction (CAWIC). These partnerships aim to foster diversity, inclusion, and innovation by providing minority and women-owned contractors with the training and technological resources they need to succeed.
This year, we have forged new partnerships and are partaking in exciting initiatives to further the spirit and mission of CIW. Procore has teamed up with the National Association of Black Women in Construction (NABWIC) and Tough Leaf to provide donated training, on-demand resources and a discounted buying program for underrepresented groups within construction.
What to Look Forward to at CIW 2024
The third day of Construction Inclusion Week is focused on supplier diversity. Together with Tough Leaf, we will be hosting a virtual discussion on empowering minority and women-owned contractors through vendor diversity programs, featuring insights from large general contractors and practical tips for securing contracts for NABWIC members.
We will also be speaking at the AGC Massachusetts Diversity Summit, a key event for the Massachusetts construction community, particularly minority-owned and underutilized business enterprises (UBEs). At the summit, we will showcase how Procore’s technology can support UBEs and improve efficiency and competitiveness. To close out and celebrate the week, Procore will be supporting a mixer event designed to build relationships with AEC industry professionals in Austin, TX, co-hosted by NAWIC, ABC Central Texas, and AGC Austin. We invite you to join us in making Construction Inclusion Week 2024 a powerful experience for everyone involved.
Procore’s commitment to diversity and inclusion within the construction industry is more than just a mission; it is a call to action. Together we can take part in building a stronger, more equitable future for all in the construction community.
Let’s build together—one commitment at a time.
