UPDATED: June 5, 2023

Each year, Groundbreak brings together a community of global construction professionals to discover, learn and innovate. Join us in Chicago on September 19 and 20 for the construction industry’s most innovative event of the year.

We’re thrilled to announce our lineup of keynote speakers for Groundbreak 2023. Each of these speakers will take over Groundbreak’s main stage to inspire us to continually transform and look forward.

The conference will kick off with a keynote from Tooey Courtemanche, Procore Founder, President and CEO. Following Tooey, the audience will hear from company leaders and visionaries who will present both the current and future vision of Procore’s construction software and how it is helping transform the industry.

Additionally, we’re excited to announce our two mainstage keynote speakers, Michael Steep and Laila Ali, plus an engaging fireside chat between Michael Phelps and Fred Mills. These distinguished leaders will share their expertise, perspective and lessons learned.

Michael Steep, best known as the founder and former Executive Director of Stanford's Disruptive Technology Program, will close out the first day of Groundbreak. He'll share his insights into how digital transformation can have a practical and positive impact on your bottom line.

Laila Ali, a renowned athlete and fitness expert, widely recognized as one of the greatest female boxers in history, will open the second day of Groundbreak. Her story is a reminder of why embracing change is critical to building successful teams.

Michael Phelps, who is considered one of the greatest athletes of all time, will close out the second day of Groundbreak with a fireside chat moderated by Fred Mills, founder of The B1M. Phelps will share his mental health journey and the importance of pursuing one’s passions.

Groundbreak is known for hosting some of the most inspirational and brightest minds both in and out of the construction industry. Speakers from previous Groundbreak conferences include the likes of Drew Brees, Fred Mills and Reshma Saujani.
